Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 3, 2026
Clipr AI ("we", "us", "our") operates the Clipr AI application and the website cliprai.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Email address, username, and encrypted password when you create an account.
- Connected platform data: When you link your Twitch, YouTube, or Kick account, we store your platform username and profile image. For Twitch and YouTube, we use OAuth to access your public VODs and broadcast information.
- Video analysis data: When you analyze a stream VOD, we process audio transcriptions and video segments to identify clips. This data is processed in real-time and cached temporarily to deliver results.
- Clips and metadata: Clip metadata (timestamps, labels, scores, thumbnails) is stored in your account. Rendered clip video files are stored in cloud storage tied to your account.
- Usage data: We track subscription usage counts (analyses performed, clips generated) to enforce plan limits.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide our functionality:
- Google Gemini: Used for AI-powered video analysis, clip identification, and editing commands. Video and audio segments are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing.
- OpenAI Whisper: Used for audio transcription to generate captions and analyze speech content in streams.
- fal.ai: Used for AI image generation and video style transfer features.
- Twitch API: Used to fetch your public VODs and stream information when you connect your Twitch account.
- YouTube API: Used to fetch your public videos and channel information when you connect your YouTube account. See the dedicated "YouTube API & Google Data" section below for full details.
- Kick API: Used to fetch public VODs for Kick streamers.
YouTube API & Google Data
Clipr AI uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge Google's Privacy Policy.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What YouTube data we access:
- Your YouTube channel name, handle, and profile image (to display your connected account)
- Your public uploaded videos and past livestreams (to let you select VODs for clip analysis)
How we use this data: We use your YouTube data solely to let you browse and select your own VODs for automated clip generation. We do not modify, upload to, or publish on your YouTube channel. We do not share your YouTube data with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.
Data storage: Your YouTube OAuth tokens (access and refresh tokens) are stored securely in our database to maintain your connection. Your channel name and profile image are stored for display purposes. No YouTube video content is permanently stored — video segments are processed temporarily during clip analysis and deleted after processing.
Revoking access: You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time from the Settings page in the app. You can also revoke Clipr AI's access to your Google account directly at Google Account Permissions. When you disconnect or revoke access, we delete your stored YouTube tokens and channel data.
Data Storage
Your data is stored using Cloudflare's infrastructure:
- Cloudflare D1: Account information, subscription data, connected platforms, and clip metadata are stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite-compatible database).
- Cloudflare R2: Rendered clip video files and thumbnails are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage.
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage.
Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Clip video files and metadata are retained as long as your account is active and within your plan's storage limits.
- Temporary processing data (video segments, transcriptions during analysis) is deleted after processing is complete.
- When you delete your account, all associated data (account info, clips, connected platforms) is permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View your account information, connected platforms, and clips within the app.
- Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab in the app. This action is irreversible.
- Disconnect platforms: You can unlink any connected streaming platform at any time from your profile settings.
- Export your clips: You can download your clips directly from the app.
Children's Privacy
Clipr AI is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
