Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
Clipr AI ("we", "us", "our") operates the Clipr AI application and the website cliprai.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services, join our waitlist, or contact us.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Waitlist information: If you join our waitlist or request early access, we collect your name, email address, phone number, your streaming platform and username or handle on it, and your Instagram handle. We collect this to contact you when access becomes available and to understand who is asking for the product. Providing a phone number is required to join the waitlist; see "Marketing and Communications" below for how we may use it and how to opt out.
- Account information: Email address, username, and a hashed password when you create an account.
- Connected platform data: When you link your Twitch, YouTube, or Kick account, we store your platform username and profile image, and we store authorization tokens so we can access your own public VODs and broadcast information on your behalf.
- Video and audio analysis data: When you analyze a stream VOD, we download and process its audio and video to identify clips. Transcripts and intermediate processing files are cached temporarily to deliver results and to avoid re-processing the same source.
- Clips and metadata: Clip metadata (timestamps, labels, scores, thumbnails, transcript text) is stored against your account. Rendered clip video files are stored in cloud storage tied to your account.
- Payment information: When you subscribe or make a purchase, payment is handled by our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number. We store a customer and subscription identifier, your plan, and the status and amount of your transactions.
- Usage data: We record subscription usage counts (analyses performed, clips generated) to enforce plan limits, and job records describing the scans you have run.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we store the device or browser token needed to deliver them.
- Security and abuse data: We record limited technical information such as request rate counters and timestamps in order to protect the service against abuse.
Marketing and Communications
We use the contact details you give us to send you service messages and, where you have asked for access, messages about the product.
- Service messages (email): account verification, password resets, notifications about scans you have run, and receipts. These are necessary to operate your account and are not marketing.
- Waitlist and invite messages (email and, where you provided a phone number, SMS/text message): confirmation that you joined, and notification when an invitation or early access becomes available to you.
We do not sell your phone number or email address, and we do not share them with third parties for their own marketing.
How to opt out: reply STOP to any text message, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email support@cliprai.app and ask to be removed. Message and data rates may apply to SMS. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service messages about an active account.
Third-Party Services
We rely on third-party providers to deliver the service. We share the minimum information each one needs, and we do not permit them to use it for their own purposes.
- AI processing providers: Audio and video segments from the VODs you analyze, and text derived from them, are processed by third-party AI service providers in order to transcribe speech, identify candidate moments, and score and rank clips. Some transcription is performed on infrastructure we operate rather than being sent to a third party, but you should assume that content from a VOD you analyze may be transmitted to an AI provider for processing.
- Cloud infrastructure and storage providers: Account records, clip metadata, and rendered clip files are stored with third-party cloud infrastructure providers.
- Payment processing: Subscriptions and purchases are processed by a third-party payment processor, and purchases made through the iOS app are processed by Apple and a third-party subscription management provider. Card details are handled by those providers and never reach our servers.
- Email and messaging delivery: Transactional email is delivered through a third-party email provider.
- Streaming platform APIs: Twitch, YouTube, and Kick APIs are used to fetch public VOD and channel information for accounts you connect or channels you look up. See the dedicated "YouTube API & Google Data" section below.
We can provide the current list of named subprocessors on request — email support@cliprai.app.
Content You Process
Clipr AI analyzes video content that you select, which may include streams you did not create. You are responsible for having the right to process and publish the content you run through the service. We do not use your clips or the source VODs to train AI models, and we do not publish your clips anywhere on your behalf. See our Terms of Service for the copyright and DMCA procedure.
YouTube API & Google Data
Clipr AI uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge Google's Privacy Policy.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What YouTube data we access:
- Your YouTube channel name, handle, and profile image (to display your connected account)
- Your public uploaded videos and past livestreams (to let you select VODs for clip analysis)
How we use this data: We use your YouTube data solely to let you browse and select your own VODs for automated clip generation. We do not modify, upload to, or publish on your YouTube channel. We do not share your YouTube data with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.
Data storage: Your YouTube OAuth tokens (access and refresh tokens) are stored in our database to maintain your connection. Your channel name and profile image are stored for display purposes. No YouTube video content is permanently stored — video segments are processed temporarily during clip analysis and deleted after processing.
Revoking access: You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time from the Settings page in the app. You can also revoke Clipr AI's access to your Google account directly at Google Account Permissions. When you disconnect or revoke access, we delete your stored YouTube tokens and channel data.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored with third-party cloud infrastructure providers, and video processing runs on servers we operate. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage and are never stored in readable form. Access to your clip library is restricted to your own account.
No service can guarantee perfect security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users.
Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Clip video files and metadata are retained as long as your account is active and within your plan's storage limits.
- Temporary processing data (downloaded audio, video segments, working files) is deleted automatically after processing. Transcripts of analyzed VODs may be cached so the same source does not need to be re-processed.
- Waitlist entries are retained until you are invited and create an account, or until you ask us to remove you. If we stop operating the waitlist, we will delete the remaining entries.
- Records we must keep for legal, tax, or accounting reasons (such as transaction records) are retained for as long as the law requires, even after account deletion.
- When you delete your account, your account information, clips, and connected platform data are permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View your account information, connected platforms, and clips within the app, or request a copy by emailing us.
- Correct your data: Update your account details in the app, or ask us to correct information we hold.
- Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab in the app. This action is irreversible.
- Be removed from the waitlist: Email support@cliprai.app and we will delete your waitlist entry, including your phone number.
- Opt out of marketing: See "Marketing and Communications" above.
- Disconnect platforms: You can unlink any connected streaming platform at any time from your profile settings.
- Export your clips: You can download your clips directly from the app.
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@cliprai.app. We do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Children's Privacy
Clipr AI is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
